Generating Presentation Quality Custom Reports from Oracle
Project Management
At the OAUG Collaborate08 conference,
this presentation was delivered by Sam Uttarwar and Vijay Ranganathan of Project
Partners. A leading multinational energy transportation and distribution
corporation implemented Oracle Project Management in 2006. The reporting
framework within the application did not provide nicely formatted
presentation-quality management reports that combined the project work and
financial data with graphical project images, maps and charts. We used the BI
Publisher technology to develop a custom report that satisfied all their needs.
This paper shows examples and presents the how-to for this custom report. You can register

Leverage the Power of Billing Extensions in
Oracle Projects: Five Common Requirements Met
At Oracle OpenWorld 2007, this presentation was delivered by Kimberly McDonald Baker, Project
Partners' VP Sales and Marketing, and Randy Martin, Practice Director.
The Oracle Projects suite provides extensions for when standard methods
don’t meet client needs. This session shows how to solve five common
problems by using extensions; lump sum billing at the lowest task
level--move beyond top task restrictions; billing labor when labor is
capped at a maximum cost rate; labor add-on billing; work-based billing
with automated revenue recognition when payment is received; and revenue
hard limits enforced at the lowest task level. You can register

Presentation: The Magic Bullet for Oracle Project Customizations: User Defined
Attributes
This presentation was delivered at the OAUG Collaborate 07 Conference by Neeraj Garg, who was Oracle's chief architect for Release 11.5.10
M. In this session attendees learned how to use
user-defined attributes (UDAs) in Oracle Projects applications. UDAs are
similar to DFFs, but much more powerful in four major ways. You can use
an unlimited number of UDAs; You can have many records of data
associated to a single entity as opposed to only one record; They can be
setup in Oracle Projects to look and feel like a standard setup option
for the project; and UDAs provide for a function accessed via a link or a
button that can be used to call any validation/processing logic needed.
This presentation provided some real life examples of how UDAs can be
used to implement custom functions for Oracle Project Management. You can
